Mid century homes require special care, especially when they are from the mid 19th century. TSG provided structural engineering for several projects, restoring the historic Mormon settlement at Nauvoo, IL. TSG consulted on the phased implementation of the Historic Nauvoo Master Plan for LDS Church. The Phase 1 restoration, included the sites of three mid-19th century settlement houses, the reconstruction of one house and a new building to accommodate an exhibit of original Temple stones in the Historic Temple District. The entire City of Nauvoo is included in the National Historic Landmark Nauvoo Historic District. TSG worked closely with the architect to maintain the fabric and character of the buildings while still meeting modern code requirements allowing for the homes to be opened to the public for interpretative tours.
