Founder and President of The Structural Group, Jan has been practicing structural engineering for over 25 years. His experience includes analysis and design of a wide range of low-, mid- and high-rise commercial, educational, industrial, institutional, multi-unit residential and specialty structures. He has also led investigation, renovation and rehabilitation work on some Chicago’s most notable historic buildings.

Jan founded The Structural Group with the goal of establishing collaborative relationships with both his clients and colleagues. His endeavors to reinforce this team approach permeate throughout his projects and the office as a whole.

A licensed Structural Engineer in Illinois as well as 24 other states, Jan is also a past president of the Structural Engineers Association of Illinois. He is a proud native Chicagoan and in his free time enjoys music, photography, traveling, hiking and kayaking with his wife, daughter and son.
